Nokia to Commercialize Vodafone Network APIs via Network as Code Platform

Nokia and Vodafone have announced a partnership to commercialize Vodafone’s network APIs through Nokia’s Network as Code platform. The initial offering will include authentication and anti‑fraud APIs, with sales beginning in April 2026.

The companies plan to expand the portfolio over time to include additional APIs covering location services and advanced connectivity capabilities. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to monetize network functionality through programmable interfaces targeted at developers and enterprise customers.

API‑based monetization models are gaining traction across the telecom industry as operators seek new revenue streams beyond traditional connectivity services. The approach aligns with the transition toward 5G Standalone architectures and edge computing environments, where programmable network capabilities become increasingly valuable.

The agreement reflects the growing shift toward the Telco‑as‑a‑Platform model, transforming operator infrastructure into service‑oriented digital platforms.
