GITEX AI Central Asia & Caucasus 2026 Gathers Over 600 International Tech Companies in Almaty

From May 3 to 5, 2026, the international technology exhibition GITEX AI Central Asia & Caucasus 2026 took place in Almaty, part of the global GITEX ecosystem — one of the world's largest platforms for digital technologies and innovation.

The exhibition was attended by more than 600 international companies, including global technology leaders. On May 4, the exhibition was visited by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who toured the key exhibits.

The most significant development for the telecom industry was the demonstration of the capabilities of the Al-Farabium supercomputer. According to the Akorda press service, dozens of projects have already been deployed on its base. Among them is the implementation of an AI assistant in the contact center of Kazakhtelecom JSC, which can automatically process customer requests, detect fraudulent calls, and redirect them to an anti-fraud call center for subsequent transfer to law enforcement agencies.

The exhibition also featured the KEDEN information system (a unified digital platform for customs control) and SmartCargo (a digital window for logistics services, combining services of customs, transport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other agencies), as well as the National Road Geoportal KazMaps for monitoring highways.

Special attention was given to digital asset projects: plans to issue financial instruments in the form of tokens based on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) were announced to develop a regulated digital asset ecosystem and crypto hub.

The exhibition confirmed Kazakhstan's status as a regional center of attraction for global technology companies interested in entering the markets of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
