Kar-Tel and SpaceX advance to the final stage of Direct-to-Cell integration
On April 14, 2026, Zhaslan Madiev, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, confirmed progress in negotiations with SpaceX. The operator "Kar-Tel" (Beeline brand) is the key local partner providing technical integration of the satellite network with terrestrial infrastructure. Currently, the project is in the final coordination stage with national security agencies—a mandatory procedure for services utilizing frequency resources on a global scale. The introduction of Direct-to-Cell technology will allow smartphone users to access the network in "blind spots" where there is no base station coverage. For the Kazakh market, this is a strategic asset, given the country's vast territory. Once bureaucratic procedures are completed, the service is expected to become a powerful tool for the B2C segment and emergency services, increasing communication reliability across the republic.
