Kazakhtelecom Launches New Supercomputer in Kosshy
Kazakhtelecom announced the launch of a new supercomputer in the city of Kosshy. According to the company, the computing capacity of the new complex will be three times greater than the existing AI-Farabium cluster in Almaty.
The project is directly tied to the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure and cloud services in Kazakhstan. The new cluster is designed for high-performance computing, Big Data processing, and AI model training.
Kazakhtelecom CEO Bagdat Mussin stated that the operator already manages the country’s largest network of data centers, including more than 1,700 server racks and approximately 47% of Kazakhstan’s data center market.
The launch reflects the changing role of telecom operators, which are increasingly becoming providers of computing infrastructure and cloud services for businesses and government institutions.
