On March 16, 2026, the results of the Global WLAN Industry Forum were announced. The centerpiece of the event was the signing of an agreement between the World WLAN Application Alliance (WAA) and regional technology leaders to implement "AI-WLAN" standards. For Uzbekistan, this marks a transition from simple coverage expansion to intelligent network management. New AI algorithms will be embedded into Wi-Fi 7 infrastructure to automatically optimize signals in high-density environments, a critical requirement for the "smart cities" and shopping malls currently under construction in Tashkent.
The deployment of this technology will allow operators to offer businesses a new level of SaaS analytics: ranging from visitor heat maps to automated cyber-threat prevention at the access protocol level. Forum participants emphasized that the era of "simple internet" is over—networks must now be self-learning and proactive, ensuring deterministic low latency for VR services and cloud gaming.
