Nokia Unveils Optical Solutions for AI Infrastructure

On March 16, 2026, Nokia officially presented its new Optical Networking portfolio, specifically designed for high-performance interaction between data centers. The primary bottleneck for modern AI clusters has been the data exchange "gap" between thousands of GPUs. Nokia’s new products enable data transmission at speeds ranging from 1.6 to 3.2 Terabits, significantly reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for infrastructure.

The technology features new high-density amplifiers capable of supporting up to 160 fiber pairs per rack. This is critical for hyperscalers and cloud providers deploying AI-based SaaS platforms. The equipment will be available for commercial use in the second half of 2026, with test samples reaching partners shortly. This innovation solidifies Nokia’s role as a key physical layer provider for the "Intelligent Cloud."
