DTE Energy to Supply 1.4 GW of Power to Oracle Data Center

DTE Energy confirmed a long‑term power supply agreement with Oracle to deliver 1.4 gigawatts of electricity to a new data center facility in Michigan. The contract runs through February 2045 with an option for extension.

State regulators approved the agreement under the condition that associated costs would not be passed on to existing customers. Alongside the announcement, DTE reported quarterly earnings above market expectations and reaffirmed its 2026 financial outlook.

The scale of the agreement highlights the growing energy requirements of hyperscale AI and cloud infrastructure projects. Securing multi‑decade power capacity has become a strategic priority for technology companies building large‑scale data center campuses.

For the telecom and cloud ecosystem, the deal underscores the structural link between AI infrastructure growth and long‑term energy procurement strategies.
