Huawei Launches Open-Source A2A‑T AI Protocol for Telecom at MWC 2026

On February 28, 2026, Huawei announced the launch of an open-source project supporting the Agent-to-Agent for Telecom (A2A‑T) protocol during Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.

The A2A‑T protocol was initially introduced at TM Forum’s Accelerate Week on February 6, 2026. It is designed to standardize collaboration between AI agents within telecom environments and accelerate automation of operator workflows.

Huawei’s open-source initiative includes key implementation components such as SDK tools, an agent registry center, and an orchestration hub enabling low-code and no-code workflow management.

According to the company, the project is intended to reduce integration timelines from months to days while improving interoperability in multi-vendor telecom ecosystems.

The official presentation of the initiative is scheduled for March 2 at the Global Autonomous Network Industry Summit during MWC 2026.
